Home Builder Austin

Is there any realtor or builder in Austin that will take a home as a trade in for a new one? Like w/ cars?

We have a home and want a larger one for hopeful increase in family size. However, we do not want the stress of selling and then buying. One step would be so very nice. I know one of the builders did something like this around 10 years ago but it appears they are no longer in business and I am hoping someone else has the same type of option.

1. Hm. I've never heard of one. Might check the Chronicle's or Statesman's classifieds, though.
2. not likely if u do find some one MAKE REAL sure ur lawyers (plural) agree it is a sound safe deal.
3. yes, it's call a guar. buy program. It works like this. your house is worth 100,000. The builder's realtor will give you a buyout of around 87,000 if they have to buy the house. They will then put the house on the market for 100,000 then 99,000, etc. If it sells before the buyout period, you get to keep the diff between 100,000 and the sales price, minus any fees (usually 5-7%).
