How to become real estate agent when I don't know new state yet?

I am relocating with my fiance in the next year but we are still waiting on job offers for his career- it is up in the air between Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, and Austin. I would like to begin working in real estate when we move and am wondering what I can do to prepare before the big move. If I take an online real estate course, will it transfer to any state- and then I will just have to separately get licensed there for a fee? Or is that incorrect? Also, I am 22 and do not have a bachelors. Is it difficult to get hired by a broker often when you are on the younger side? I am very mature and professional, but slightly afraid my age and lack of college education could affect my success in real estate. I'm sure this is doubtful, but I am still at that "Wow, I'm a grown up now?" age so I'm constantly questioning things like that. Thank you so much in advance! Thanks you so much for the info! :) I will do that!

  1. every state is different. You will have to take training and pass your test for the state you want your license. I dont know of any states that allow your training to be transfered to another state. Some states will allow you to become an agent in another state if you have a license in this state (make your pick but you would have to be licensed in that state). Dont worry about getting hired, its a sales job. Take the top sales person from the cities you listed and switch them around. They will be the top sales person in the new area as well. If you can sale you will be hired by anybody. I use to hire loan officers. Guess who I picked? Those freaks that show up while you are walking to your car selling cologne. If they are willing to do that, I can teach them how to do a loan. google "dept of real estate (name your state)" and look up licensing in all the states.
  2. If you don't know what state you are going to be moving to yet, it can be difficult for you to take an on-line course, however you can study some basic principles on real estate. You can go to a store like Barnes & Nobles or Borders and purchase a book relating to real estate for the time being.
  3. Some of the best realty salesmen are 22 years old. That is not a problem. You do not need a college degree. THink of Bill Gates; he dropped out of school and has done pretty well. The realty school has been shortened to 9 days in many states. You start work in 2 weeks. Brokers will be willing to hire you. But you will have some pressure on you to sell a house or two. You can do it..
